Make room for discovery
EXPERIENCES IN TUSCANY
Let your curiosity lead the way
A region where only a few days are enough to realise that one way of travelling is not enough to tell its story. You can begin with art cities and then find yourself along a road through vineyards and small villages; spend a morning in the gardens of a historic villa and choose the sea for the afternoon. Those who love walking can follow the trails of the Apuan Alps, while an artisan workshop or a stop at the table reveals the people and traditions behind what you see. The variety of landscapes invites different interests, without turning a holiday into a schedule to follow. We will help you discover what it offers, leaving you the pleasure of choosing which roads to take.
HISTORY
Open-air beauty, waiting to be admired
In Lucca, history is part of daily life: in the outline of Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, on church façades and in the gardens that emerge among rooftops when you look at the city from the walls. Shops and cafés are also part of this discovery. Just beyond the centre, the Lucchese villas tell the story of the families who spent their summers there; towards the sea, Viareggio recalls the era of seaside holidays in the Liberty façades along its promenade. In towns such as Pietrasanta, art lives beyond museums, in galleries and workshops where marble is still worked. From Lucca to the coast, every stop offers something to observe closely, with time to follow what truly intrigues you.

AT THE TABLE
Traditions, one bite at a time
A plate of handmade tordelli, a slice of buccellato found in a small Lucca shop, lunch in the hills after travelling through ancient villages and olive groves: at the table too, every place reveals something of itself. The Wine and Olive Oil Route is an opportunity to discover the excellence of the Lucca area, crossing vineyards, farms and timeless villages. Near the coast, landscapes and menus change: a seaside dinner of the day’s catch or spaghetti with clams can be the loveliest way to end the day. Versilia also surprises with excellent meat dishes, among family trattorias and restaurants for a special evening.
OUTDOORS
Wherever the day takes you
Some prefer to leave early to enjoy the landscapes of the Lucca countryside, while others wait until late afternoon to walk the walls when Lucca changes light. From roads through olive trees to avenues in historic gardens, every route offers a chance to observe the landscape closely. For hiking lovers, the Apuan Alps offer trails chosen around your pace and desire to be in nature. The sea can fill a whole day or be the final stop of a journey through Versilia’s towns: in Viareggio, beach and pinewood alternate; in Lido di Camaiore, the pier invites you to see the coast from another perspective. Each morning you can choose a different direction and return in the evening with a new story to tell.
